A low pressure system is moving out of the north Pacific toward the Alaska Peninsula this morning, pushing a front into the state's southern coastline.  Clouds and showers are found all along the front.  While it will start out light, precipitation will increase in intensity from time to time through the late morning and afternoon in PWS and portions of SW Alaska.

Warm air is also associated with this system.  A reinforcing shot of warmth from the Panhandle through Southcentral is forecast today.  Highs will range from the low 30s to the low 50s.

Mild air remains across the west.  Highs will be in the 20s to near 30.  Skies have cleared along the west coast.  Sunshine is in store for most of the Interior again today, after wall-to-wall blue skies yesterday.

Southwest will remain warm and showery.  Precipitation may start out as snow in Bristol Bay and around Dutch Harbor, but as temps continue to warm, a change to all rain is expected.

Gusty winds are likely in the Mat Su valley.  Gusts to 45 mph can be expected today and tonight.

While winds are expected to remain below advisory or warning level, gusts through channeled terrain of southern Alaska, including Turnagain Arm, may approach 50-65 mph this evening into early Thursday.
