Another day of brutal cold will plague the state once again.  The weather pattern in Alaska has changed very little from last week---high pressure dome over Siberia and the Chukchi Sea; strong low pressure moving out of the Gulf of Alaska toward the shores of the SE Panhandle; and weak disturbances moving through the Aleutians.

As a result, expect another day much like yesterday.  Highs will range from 20 to 40 below over the Interior and West with patchy ice fog.  Scattered snow showers are likely in the Priblofs and the Aleutian chain.

Southcentral will see another cold day.  Snow showers from Valdez toward Cordova will will be spotty and accumulate to only an inch or two locally.  Highs in the 20s.  Anchorage and the Valley will see low clouds, patchy flurries and very cold temperatures.  Highs from 5 above to 5 below.  Warmer air and higher snow chances return by Thursday.

The messiest weather will be in SE Alaska.  Snow over the northern Panhandle will change to rain as warm air moves north over the region.  Highs will be in the 40s to the south with periods of heavy rain through tonight.  Winds will gusts to 35 mph.
