The Alaska Aces destroyed the Utah Grizzlies 6-1 to complete the series sweep, Saturday at the Sullivan Arena.
The Aces took control from the start. At 9:16 into the first, Ethan Cox struck first with assists from Jordan Kremyr and Russ Sinkewich. Minutes later, Garry Nunn found the back of the net to round out the first period with a 2-0 advantage.
The hot streak continued into the second period, with a goal from Jaques Lamoureux only 1:03 in. Also scoring in the second were Nick Mazzolini and Wes Goldie.
Goldie would score another goal in the third, but the real excitement did not occur until after the netter. Following a fight that erupted between Chris Bruton and Derick Martin, a slew of penalties were handed out including a game misconduct for Utah's coach Kevin Colley. With minutes left in play, Utah's Paul McIlveen would score the team's lone goal of the night.
The Aces start up again next Friday, December 16th, hosting the Ontario Reign.
