The Alaska Aces managed the series sweep with a 4 - 3 shoot out victory over the Colorado Eagles Saturday evening at the Sullivan Arena.

Not wasting any time, Colorado's Aaron Schneekloth net one just 2:18 in.  The Eagles took advantage of a stunned Alaska team from there. Less than two minutes later, Eagle's Captain Riley Nelson added another to the board with the assist from Kevin Ulanski.  Schneekloth would score another before the first intermission to finish the period 3 - 0.  Alaska only had 7 shots on goal, while Colorado tallied 14.

Alaska woke up in the second period. Scoring on the power play was Jordan Kremyr from Garry Nunn and Nick Mazzolini.  Aces dominated the period but were unable to score again until the last minute, courtesy of Tyler Ruegsegger.  Alaska added 12 shots on goal during the period, surpassing Colorado's total. The Eagles only managed to add 4.

In the third period, Bryan Miller netted the equalizer to send the game into overtime.

Unable to score in OT, the game went into a shoot out.  Nick Mazzolini was the first to find the back of the net, and Wes Goldie made his shot right after.  After the Eagle's fourth attempt on Adam Courchaine was stopped, the Aces claimed victory.

Alaska hosts another 3 game series starting Thursday, January 5th at the Sullivan.
