BETHEL, Alaska—
The Aniak 150 sled dog race is set to begin Friday evening in Aniak.KYUK (http://bit.ly/pEOxAj) says only four mushers are signed up for the race so far. Mushers can enter the 150-mile race right up to just before the 7 p.m. start Friday.
The total purse for the race is $10,000.
Organizers say the race was once a year event until interest waned and it was discontinued.
The race was resurrected four years ago.
Aniak is a village of about 540 people about 92 miles northeast of Bethel.
