One person died Friday evening after an off-road wreck in the MatSu Valley.
Alaska State Troopers got the call just before 5:00 p.m. about the accident on a trail about 75 to 100 feet off-road, near mile 5.5 of Knik-Goose Bay Road.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says a motorcyle rider and the driver of a razor were headed in opposite direction on the trail. They jumped a hill at the same time, not knowing the other was coming, and collided.
The motorcycist, 26- year old Brett Ray of Wasilla, died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Peters didn't have any information Friday evening about whether the razor driver, Ryan Blankenship of Wasilla, suffered any injuries.
AST says both men were wearing helmets and protective gear.
No citations were issued, but the investigation continues.
