No arrests have been made in a fatal shooting at the R&R Garage in Midtown Anchorage more than a month after the incident, according to Anchorage police.

Investigators say an unidentified man shot two garage employees on the night of April 18 and then left in an SUV. Michael Curry, 43, a service manager at the garage, was killed in the shooting, while 23-year-old Alfredo "Freddie" Esteban was badly injured.

Esteban still isn’t able to work, but R&R owner Pat Riffle says he visits the garage daily to keep other employees company.

Curry was a popular employee at the garage off Fireweed Lane.

“Just like family,” Riffle said.

APD spokesperson Anita Shell said Anchorage has had seven homicides this year, which is on par with other years.
