A Haines woman who is two weeks from her baby's due date will report to prison on Wednesday, a judged ruled over the woman's objections.

Juneau Superior Court Judge Philip Pallenberg says 24-year-old Adeline Strong must begin her sentence this week for dealing less than two pills of oxycodone in Juneau two years ago.

The baby is due March 3.

Strong completed treatment for an opiate addiction earlier this year. She has been sentenced to six years in prison, with three years suspended.

Her lawyer asked the judge to wait to sentence her until two or three weeks after she gave birth.

Strong pleaded guilty in October 2010 to a felony charge of attempted 2nd-degree misconduct involving drugs.
