Sgt. Daniel E. Woodcock, a 25-year-old Glenallen native, died March 11, 2007, from wounds inflicted by a bomb explosion in Dawr, Iraq. He became the 15th Alaskan to die in the Iraq War.
Woodcock was an infantry team leader assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Bragg, N.C. He is survived by a wife and two young children, who also reside in North Carolina. His parents live in Glenallen.
