Sgt. 1st Class Christopher R. Brevard, a 31-year-old Wasilla native, was killed March 16, 2007; while on dismounted patrol an improvised explosive device detonated nearby.
Brevard, a 1994 graduate of Dimond High School, left behind a wife and two young daughters. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, based at Fort Richardson.
