Cpl. Cody Putman, 22, died April 12, 2007, when a car bomb exploded in Baghdad, causing multiple buildings to collapse and inflicting heavy casualties, according to military reports.
Putman, a native of Lafayette, Ind., was assigned to Bravo Troop, 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Richardson.
