FAIRBANKS, Alaska—Fairbanks police say a 4-year-old boy playing with a handgun at a pawn shop fired a round into the store's ceiling.
Police took a call on the incident at 1:21 a.m. Sunday.
Sgt. Bruce Barnett tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that the father of the boy was talking to an employee and saw his son playing with the 1-year-old son of 24-year-old Jaclyn Johnson, a store employee.
The father of the 4-year-old says he heard a loud bang and saw his son with a silver revolver in his hands.
Barnett says the .38-caliber Smith & Wesson Special was Johnson's personal weapon.
